Karan brings nearly two decades of experience across capital markets investing and legal practice. His engagement with Indian equity markets began in 2006 during his legal studies in New Delhi, where corporate finance and governance shaped his early interest in investing.

Qualified as a lawyer in 2010, he has practised across financial crime, regulatory compliance, company law, and insolvency (NCLT) — providing a rigorous analytical foundation for assessing corporate structures, financial risk, and governance.

Since 2016, he has actively managed private capital in India’s small- and mid-cap segments, applying a fundamentals-driven, research-intensive approach across multiple market cycles. His investment focus centres on early participation in next-generation Indian growth sectors including cybersecurity, defence manufacturing, digital infrastructure, renewable energy, healthcare innovation, and deeptech.

Karan leads the Fund’s India-focused small-cap strategy, combining hands-on investment experience with a legal-regulatory foundation.

Alvin is a seasoned financial and investment advisor with more than 20 years of experience across global financial markets. He began his career at Deloitte Consulting in London in 2005, followed by AON Hewitt in 2008, where he specialised in investment strategy for institutional investors.

Returning to Mauritius in 2009, he led transformative initiatives in asset management and insurance with industry leaders including MCB Group, SWAN Group, and Amicorp Group.

Alvin holds a first-class BSc in Actuarial Science from Cass Business School (2005), is a CFA charterholder (2010), and a UK-qualified investment actuary (FIA, 2012). Based in Mauritius, he serves on the Fund’s Investment Committee and brings independent insight and a holistic approach to complex financial challenges.

Independent Director

Irfaan is Managing Director of KFS (Mauritius) Ltd, with over 16 years of experience in financial services across Mauritius and Bermuda, working with private equity and hedge funds.

Prior to KFS, he served eight years as Regional CEO at Equinoxe Alternative Investment Services (now Apex Group). His earlier career includes roles at JP Morgan Private Equity, Schroders, and PwC. He began his career with KPMG Mauritius, where he earned his ACCA qualification.

He also serves as an independent director on multiple Collective Investment Scheme (CIS), closed-end fund, CIS Manager, and investment-advisor boards.

Brings over 14 years of experience in fund administration and financial services, with expertise across accounting, fund operations, and derivatives strategies.

He has held roles at leading firms including IFS (Sanne Group), Cim Global (IQEQ), Equinoxe (Apex), and Sanlam Trustees, and currently serves as Group Manager at KFS (Mauritius) Ltd.
